Preventing Fraudulent Orders from Importing into ShipStation from BigCommerce

This article is meant for retailers who use BigCommerce as their Shopping Cart Platform and ShipStation for fulfillment and shipping.

By default, ShipStation imports orders that are in a "Manual Verification Required" state from BigCommerce into ShipStation. This is problematic, as orders purchased through Bolt that are in a "Manual Verification Required" state in BigCommerce have not yet undergone fraud review and may still be rejected. Thus, if such orders are imported into ShipStation, you may risk shipping an order for which payment has been voided due to fraud.

To prevent this from occurring, please reach out to ShipStation support and request that they enable the setting to import "Manual Verification Required" into an "Awaiting Payment" status instead of "Awaiting Shipment." This should resolve any issues with ShipStation imports.
